![]() Would I have to switch this to the PROGRAM mode to change the code?" I took a small plate off the front and it has a 9 volt battery and a switch that says PROGRAM and OPERATE. "Yes, it has wires that go through the wall and plug into a wall mounted push button door opener. I have the code from the previous owners but would like to change it to my own code. The keypad only has numbers 0-9 and no ENTER button, so I can't push the button on the opener and walk to the keypad, enter the new 4 digit code and push enter, because there is no ENTER button. I am trying to change the code but am unable to. "I have a Craftsman 1/2 horse GDO model 41A4315-7D and a Keyless entry keypad model 31D302A. I would use a fresh battery before starting this. Okay, I found these instructions at this link: Thank you all very much for your help with this rather frustrating affair, and a special thanks to vln12 for providing the final solution. I then flipped the switch inside, typed in my new code, and flipped the switch back, and my new code was programmed. ![]() SOLUTION: I had to open the front plate of the button that the keypad is wired to. Supposedly the "light on the keypad" will flash when I've set the code properly, but the keypad has no light. The existing code still works, is only 4 digits, and doesn't end in 0. I'm also reading that I need to pic a 6 digit code that ends in 0.People are saying I need to flip the console over and flip a switch to "program", but as you can see from the second pic in the second album, there is no switch on the back of the console.I googled the keypad model, and I've found a few things that don't match what I'm seeing: I've tried a number of things that I thought might work, but alas, they did not. The keypad only has buttons 0-9 (no enter button), and the opener itself has two dials and a single green button. There is no problem, of course, I just want to know how to USE the thing, but I was told that there was no one I could call that knew anything about any of their products.Īnyway, I have a Sears/Craftstman grage door opener, model number 139.53638SRT 1/2HP. I spent 35 minutes talking to 5 different people who all told me that they could do nothing but schedule a technician to come out to look at "the problem". There is literally nothing in my garage door opener manual about setting/changing my keypad code (it acknowledges that the keypad exists, but there's nothing on how to actually use it), and Sears's customer service is useless.
